The grand opening of the Program in Technology and Vocational Education (MP-TVE) is initiated by professors of Faculty in Technology and Vocational Education (FPTK), UPI as follow Prof. Dr.  As’ari Johar, Prof. Dr. Bachtiar Hasan, and Prof. Dr. Sumarto. The accreditation of Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (MP-TVE) is B as accredited by Surat Keputusan Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT), nomor: 010/BAN-PT/Ak-X/S2/VII/2012. Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (MP-TVE) particularly experts of: technology and vocational education based learning: theory, concept, principles, quality management, human resources management, career counseling, technology and information application; curriculum of technology and vocational education: approach, model, stategy, model, technique, and learning media in technology and vocational education; and learning innovation in technology and vocational education. Therefore, the vision of Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (MP-TVE) is particularly in accordance to UPI’s vision which is leading and outstanding. The vision is “to be a leading and outstanding program and reach international recognition in technology and vocational education.” Aims The objectives of the Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (MP-TVE) is to prepare prospective students to be an educator (lecturer, teacher, instructure), a consultant in a field of technology and vocational, a planner and developer of technology and vocational education, and a researcher with broad range of knowledge, has a strong character, and a high level of competitiveness in national and international level, able to conduct an applied – research of technology and vocational education which oriented to national and international publication, able to establish the social dedication based research, able to contribute to the society, and able to build a partnership with associates educational institution as well as research, industri, and professional association in national and international level. Learning Outcomes   Aspects Learning Outcomes Generic skills Demonstrate capacity and skills to make appropriate and professional decisions on the basis of information and data analyses, and to select different alternative solutions, both independently and collectively, to different problems to do with teaching and learning process and provision of services for learners’ development,  to help achieve the learners’ best learning outcome and optimal development, in line with the learners’ context.   Knowledge Synthesise different theories and principles of quality management, human resource management, career counselling, information and technology application, and curriculum development of technology and vocational education. Synthesise different instructional approaches, models, strategies, methods, techniques and media of technology and vocational education to  help achieve the learners’ best learning outcome and optimal development. Analyse and synthesise issues in technology and vocational education, and formulate possible solutions to those problems using inter–  or multi–disciplinary approaches. Specific Skills Develop different innovative and tested instructional theories and principles of technology and vocational education through research based on scientific principles and ethics. Conduct research to produce innovative approaches, models and methods of instruction  in  technology and vocational education. Communication Ability Communicate ideas and the results of research on technology and vocational education in  national and international fora and journals based on scientific principles and ethics. Attitude Demonstrate a sense of responsibility to solve relevant problems to communities and industries on technology and vocational education and to provide relevant solutions to problems in the society and industries. The final score is the accumulative score from mid – term test, final test, and assignments required by the course. As the course is completed, students will have the qualification exam to comprehensively assess the knowledge, affective, and students capability in pedagogy, research methodology, and specific expertise on technology and vocational education. Thesis and dissertation will be assessed by two pace: thesis defense, and scientific journal publication or proceedings seminar. Student Support The developmental curriculum of the Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education is assembled based on principles of: academic education, masters and doctoral degree of Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education which resemble the body of knowledge to support the professionalism of the graduates with consistency and sustainability; the coherence of the curriculum content connects with the general pedagogical knowledge, assessment, evaluation, and knowledge of educational content; UPI’s curriculum model is school university based curriculum, is particularly focus on programme based education in a broad view (not only schooling).   Various student services have been developed to help students achieve the best learning outcomes

This program is established to meet the needs of practitioners and experts to develop Art Education, who have adequate knowledge about Art Education, ability to adapt and skill to solve more complicated problems about Arts and Art Education faced by Art Education. Art Education Master Program consistently and continuously implements various improvement in Arts and Art Education as an effort to support UPI program focusing on education. In its organization, Master Program of Art Education Study Program consistently refers to UPI programs and policy, either in academic or non-academic aspects. Besides that, Art Education Master Program responds actively various development and public demand in local, regional and global levels. Aims Magister Pendidikan Seni (M.Pd) aims at preparing the students to be educators, thinkers, researchers, developers and practitioners of Art Education who have: (a) extensive knowledge and great attention on Art Education in all dimensions; (2) deep skill mastery in education field; and (3) ability to research, develop, plan and organize Art Education and spread science and technology in Art Education field and its related aspects. Learning Outcomes Learning outcomes expected from Art Education Study Program of UPI Postgraduate School include various competences as following here: Competences Learning Outcomes Teaching and Learning Approach Cognitive 1.    The students will be able to analyze and synthesize the content and pedagogy of Art Education critically, systematically and continuously.    Discussion, critical analysis, research-based learning, project-based learning, collaborative learning, cooperative learning and independent learning. Special Skill 2.   The students will be able to create innovation in Art Education curriculum, teaching and achievement assessment. Critical analysis, independent learning, mini-research, presentation 1.      The students will be able to apply their knowledge and innovation in teaching and learning practice, and Art Education development.   Project-based learning, collaborative learning, cooperative learning, independent learning, teaching practice and presentation. 2.       The students will be able to conduct research to improve knowledge in Art Education field and the quality of Art Education through interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches. Communication Skill 3.    The students will be able to disseminate research findings and innovation in Art Education field in national and international level. The components of assessment are documented in syllabus and subject unit of such subject, and this assessment reflects the students’ learning achievement and program content achievement as form of curriculum implementation. The components of learning achievement assessment are by mid-test and final test. Such components include assignments in form of individual/ group presentation, performance, portfolio, mini-research, research report and essay writing. In addition to subject assessment, teaching and learning process is assessed by qualification test to determine whether the students have qualification or deserved to continue the lecturing or not. The students can take this test if they have minimum TOEFL score by 475. The materials of qualification test include pedagogical content, social content and research method. The students are considered to pass the test if they have minimum score by 2.75. For those who have not got such score are allowed to take remedial test, a month after first qualification test. The students who have not passed the second qualification test are considered dropped out from the program. Master thesis completion is required for master degree. The process of thesis writing is started with research proposal supervised by supervision lecturers and followed by thesis proposal seminar reviewed by three lecturers. During thesis completion, the students will take Thesis Testing (thesis defense) divided into Thesis Testing 1 (first thesis defense) and Thesis Testing 2 (second thesis defense).
