Doctoral Student in Primary Education Department Graduate School UPI join Research Internship and Short Course in Utrecht University, The Netherlands
In order to support the achievements of UPI towards World Class University Program, one of the doctoral students of Primary Education Department Graduate School UPI, Puri Pramudiani, has been accepted in Freudenthal Institute, Utrecht University to conduct a dissertation research (Research Internship) in the Netherlands which started from 11 August to 3 November 2022.
The topic of the student’s dissertation is about Realistic Mathematics Education/ RME with the Promoter team: Prof. Dr. H. Tatang Herman, M.Ed. (UPI), Prof. Turmudi, M.Ed., M.Sc., Ph.D. (UPI), and Dr. Maarten Dolk (inspiration4learning Company/ The Freudenthal Institute, Utrecht University, The Netherlands). The research was conducted on the implementation of RME in The Netherlands and in Indonesia (PMRI/Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education) aimed at Primary School Teacher Continuous Professional Development.
During the Research Internship, Puri Pramudiani also participated in The Summer School Activities held in Utrecht University, The Netherlands led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Michiel Doorman as the course director. This activity was attended by 20 participants from various countries consisting of The United States, Portugal, Greece, Canada, Poland, Turkey, Indonesia, Spain, and Australia. The topics discussed in this activity are the application of RME in curriculum development and research in the field of mathematics education from primary, secondary, and higher education levels. In this activity, the development of inquiry-based learning, assessment, and the use of technology for context-based mathematics learning were carried out.
The series of activities attended by doctoral student of Primary Education Department Graduate School UPI are aimed at accelerating dissertation in order to actualize international graduate quality standard.
